You haven’t heard from me for a while as I moved to Spain and got caught
in the relaxed Spanish lifestyle. Delicious.
Watch the Spanish news and they deal with stuff so much different
and handle topics quick and clear. Yes, there is low level corruption for
example cops getting free food in the fruit shops. But the big ones like
ex-PM Mariano Rajoy got sacked very quickly after he was caught in treasury
hick-ups.
Back on English TV I watched how the press uses the complex Brexit handling of Theresa May causing another round of scaremongering. The Airbus boss, a German, threatened that a hard Brexit might cause the loss of 14000 jobs in the UK. What a load of nonsense; do you really think that Airbus is going to move a well-functioning branch away from the UK? And if it will cause extra cost (I don’t know why), I am sure that Theresa May would cover the tariffs.
I also read that a poll showing that now more English prefer to stay in. No wonder after all the irresponsible bickering between Barnier and May?
Luckily there are British entrepreneurs with more sense like Weatherspoon boss Tim Martin who agrees with me that the UK will be fine. All the economical horrors predicted after the vote did not happen and the negotiations after a hard Brexit would be much clearer. You start with an empty sheet and let the EU ask for deals.
And I keep repeating, what Europe are we dealing with? Greece that still has not recovered, Italy being bankrupt, Merkel struggling to keep a government going in Germany and other countries that have difficulties to get their bookkeeping straight. Only my Holland seem to be solid and well financed.
A Europe, that needs a sh.tt load of money to keep the troubled countries afloat and creating an unnecessary European army swallowing billions. A Europe demanding that by 2020 all members should adapt the € including the UK; if it changes its mind and stays in.
So, believe me and Weatherspoon’s Tom Martin, no European company can afford to lose Britain, so it will be fine.
